Experience a warm welcome from your first visit

Following Jesus | Caring for Others | Serving the Community

No matter who you are, or where you are on your life’s journey, you are welcome here!

St. Thomas United Church of Christ has been part of the Chesterfield community for over 100 years. What began as a small congregation in the historic town of Gumbo has since moved to one of the highest points in St. Louis County.

Visit us “on the hill”, and you’ll experience much more than just a scenic view — expect a big smile and a warm greeting from our welcoming and caring congregation.

Worship Services

We offer several worship opportunities throughout the year. In addition to the services below, we host an annual Vespers evening service in the fall and special events throughout the year, like our annual Pet Blessing.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

You’re invited to worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Attend in person or join online via Zoom.

Afterwards, you’re invited to the lower level for fellowship hour where you can get a cup of coffee, a donut or pastry and warm conversation.

OUTDOOR WORSHIP

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, join us for a one-of-a-kind outdoor worship experience in our Garden of Praise at 9 a.m.

Thanks to the volunteers from the congregation who built this worship space, you’ll enjoy a more casual, rustic worship environment on the hillside overlooking wooded acreage of the church property.

EASTER SUNRISE

In addition to our traditional worship service, St. Thomas hosts an outdoor Easter Sunrise Service atop the hill. The service time varies year-to-year and is scheduled just before day-break, providing an incredible view of the sunrise to the east during the service.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

We celebrate the birth of Jesus with a candlelight Christmas Eve service each year. You’re invited to participate in the festivities as we light the Advent candles, add to the nativity and sing traditional Christmas hymns.
